The best type of caulk to use is silicone sealant. You can find all different types of sealant at your local hardware store but the vast majority should work with our KONG PVC.

No. PVC trim is cosmetic, not structural, and Kong PVC trim is no different. However, you can use them to make cosmetic changes to existing structural elements and they can be easily customised to maintain the look and feel of the rest of your building.

No, but it doesn’t need to! All of our KONG PVC products come in white only, but they’re fully paintable and so you can customize them to your heart’s content. This is good news for the sake of consistency because instead of picking a rough approximation, you can use the exact shade of paint you need to get the color you’re looking for.

You don’t need to, but you can. One of the beauties of Kong PVC is that it can be used as is or you can customize it to make it suit the rest of your color scheme. We recommend painting it where possible just to give the trim that extra layer of protection.

Prevention is better than the cure, which is why we sell packs of KONG screws and PVC plugs. These are designed to stop nail holes from happening. If it’s too late and the damage has already been done, you’re faced with the choice between doing what you can with putties and fillers or starting again but with screws and plugs.

For best results, use our KONG screws and PVC plugs. These are specially designed to do the job and they’re what we use ourselves when working on builds with PVC trim.

Diluted bleach is the most effective cleaner for our KONG PVC products, especially when they’re unpainted. After they’ve been painted, bleach may damage the paintwork, so consider bleaching and then repainting so that your PVC trim looks as good as new.

Yes! One of the great strengths of our KONG PVC products is that they can be used both indoors and outdoors. PVC sheets can be routed just like wood using the same tools and equipment. We tend to find that they’re particularly popular indoors for cabinets, shelving and panelling, although they also have all sorts of other uses. They make for a good choice just about anywhere!

You can but you’ll need the right equipment. We stock heat blanket kits which allow the material to be heat formed, so be sure to mention that to us when you place your order.

All PVC products will yellow over time to a certain extent in the same way that wood will eventually warp and rot no matter how it’s treated. We use a UV resistant formula and offer a 30-year warranty, and our KONG PVC products are known for their durability and resilience. They can also be painted and bleached as needed.

We carry out extensive testing and research and development to reduce and mitigate contraction where possible. Any movement can also be significantly reduced by using KONG screws and KONG adhesive, both of which are specifically designed to complement our KONG PVC products and to improve their lifespan. If prolonged cold spells or regular temperature fluctuations are a common problem in your area, we’d suggest using a shiplap joint. And remember that bigger is better when it comes to surface area. The bigger the surface area, the more powerful the bond will be when the glue sets.
